Scholarship boost thanks to Shell !
Three Fife College engineering students have been given a boost to their career prospects after they were awarded scholarships by Shell UK . Engineering students Finlay Staniforth , Morgan Cameron and Leon Fenton have all received scholarship awards of £ 1,000 each from the energy company .
The Shell UK Scholarship recognises academic ability as well as a commitment to studies with the aim of progressing in the energy industry .
Offered by Shell since 2009 , the scholarship awards can be used by the students to purchase equipment and materials to support their studies and to progress onto another course or into employment within the sector .
Leon Fenton , from Dunfermline , said : “ I will use this scholarship to help pay for my accommodation when I go on to university .”
Finlay Staniforth , from Dunfermline , said : “ I am very happy to receive this scholarship . It will help massively towards tools used to complete my studies and make transportation less taxing in the new year .”
Shell UK generously supported two deserving students continuing their courses at Fife College after completing FA qualifications with us while still at school giving them a great boost as they took the step from school to college . Students Evie West and Dylan Beattie received a share of £ 1,000 .
Evie West from Glenrothes said : “ I am so happy to be awarded this scholarship as if it wasn ’ t for me completing a foundation apprenticeship , I wouldn ’ t have discovered my passion for the construction industry .”
Dylan Beattie was delighted to be awarded this year ’ s scholarship and said : “ I feel really proud to win this award it just shows hard work pays off . I will use this £ 500 to purchase a laptop to help with my studies .”
