New wave of CSP plant
construction initiated in Spain
& US. Smaller plants in other
countries, such as Italy & India

The US used to be the only actor in CSP until 2007 when Spain built its first plant.
l
Spain then successfully developed 1.9 GW of CSP and now dominates the market with
69% of global installed capacity.
l
Middle Eastern and African countries have commissioned 65 MW between 2010 and 2011 in
Algeria, Morocco and Egypt. A additional 100 MW plant came on line in March 2013 in the UAE .
l
China and India have started to show interest in CSP technology since 2010, with
respectively 1.5 MW and 2.5 MW of capacity installed at the end of 2012.
Spain and the US dominate the market, with 69% and
