Sceneazine.com Citizen Flea – The Itch You’ll Love to Scratch by Alyce-Hannah Golderer F or almost 10 years there’s been a band in Augusta, Ga., that has continually satisfied its audiences’ appetites for great music, mostly with rock songs from the 90s and 2000s. But they don’t stop there, also covering a range of tunes from the 60’s forward, classics like Bob Dylan to the more recent System of a Down. That band is Citizen Flea. Comprised of four very unique individuals, with all but one originally from different parts of the country, these guys have made doing covers professionally an art form. Called perfectionists by many, they refer to themselves as only 80 percent perfectionists and 20 percent fun-loving bandmates who are all deeply passionate about music. Their lineup includes: Juan Almodovar, the only original member left in the group, who thumps the daylights out of the bass and sings vocals; Tom Langley, ripper on lead guitar and also vocals; Ryan Henderson, pounding drummer and newest member of the band; and, not to be forgotten, Joey Williams, guitarist and lead vocals. When asked why they prefer to do cover songs rather than originals, the guys were quick with a correction, in which Almodovar said they all have original pieces and are even “in the works of writing an original demo. “ On the upcoming album will be four songs from 420 Outback with Ryan Henderson, Citizen Flea will do four songs featuring Langley and Almodovar and four of Williams’ own pieces will also be on it. There is no definite date yet for the release of the album. They say it’s all music they love and that their fans want
