Sceneazine.com
a lot of work and takes a lot of support on all ends, it
would be nice if bands and fans could take a lesson from
what the scene used to be like.
Do you think that online presence like Facebook or
Twitter is important for fans to find you? Do you have
either or both?
A Facebook and Twitter are necessary in this day
and age. Everyone looks at them, from your own fans,
to potential fans, to even people in the industry. You can
find us on both: www.facebook.com/aurinband & www.
twitter.com/aurinband
Speaking of online, where can fans find your music?
Do you have any free downloads?
Fans can hear our first independent album “The
Pre-Inspired Symphony” in its entirety on Spotify. Fans
can see our music video for “Holding On” off of that
record on YouTube. Fans can hear both new material
from our upcoming Pavement Entertainment label debut “Catharsis” and first album on www.reverbnation.
com/aurin and www.souncloud.com/aurinband - Even
though “Holding On” has been remastered as a bonus
track for “Catharsis,” the original can be downloaded
for free on our ReverbNation page.
Most bands dream of making it big or reaching the
top. Do you guys have that dream or do you care if you
get a recording contract?
Nothing would make us happier than being able to
make a full career out of our music. It has been an honor
to work with our producer, Grammy Award winner Ja-
Page 16
son Corsaro on “Catharsis,” have
it mastered by Howie Weinberg,
and now being signed by Tim
King and Mark Nawara of Pavement Entertainment. It is such
a surreal and amazing feeling
to have “Catharsis” coming out
10/14/14 via Pavement Entertainment / Sony RED / Plastic
Head world-wide and up for preorder through awesome retailers
such as bestbuy.com amazon.

If you were trying to convince
someone to come see your band what would you tell
them? What do you feel makes you different from any
other band?
We leave everything out there, whether it is in our
recordings or on stage. We make sure everything means
something. We are different because we all suffer from
our own problems and are open about that through our
music and through what we stand for. We connect to
people from all walks of life on a very personal level.
Do you guys only play local or do you get to tour
much?
We are working on setting up tours to promote
“Catharsis” as we speak.
Do you guys have a favorite place that you like to
play? What is it that
makes that place your
favorite?
We have two “home
away from homes” that
have both been like family to us who have given
us some amazing chances
and opportunities. Those
venues are Dingbatz in
Clifton, NJ and Championships in Trenton, NJ.
Who would you guys
say was the biggest musical or non-musical influence on each of you?
There are so many
and we cannot honestly
pick one. If we could alter
the question slightly and
say what is one album
you could not live without though, we’d say:
Andrew: Staind – Dysfunction
Sarah: Alice In Chains –
Jar of Flies
Linda: Pink Floyd – Dark
Side of the Moon
Joe: Explosions in the
Sky – The Earth is Not a Cold
Dead Place
Tell us about your next shows
and why we should be there.
10/17/14 – Our label debut “Catharsis” CD release show because
we handpicked some awesome
bands for that evening. It will be
a fantastic party and great show.
11/02/14 – We are playing with
Nonpoint and Gemini Syndrome
at Starland Ballroom. We believe
those bands speak for themselves
and need no explanation! J
11/17/14 – We are playing at the
Delancey in NYC, and who doesn’t like the energy you
get from playing in such an awesome city?
11/29/14 – We are playing The Legendary Dobbs in
Philly, PA. Dobbs has had acts such as Nirvana, Tool
and many others. They are legendary (it’s right in the
name)!!
12/06/14 – We are playing with our label mates in Tantric. Again, Tantric is another band that speaks for
themselves!
As a band, how often and for how long do you practice?
We like to practice at least once a week during
downtime for quite a number of hours. During more
active times we will schedule more.
What advice would you give to someone putting
together their first band? Would you encourage or discourage them?
Anyone starting out needs to know that a band is a
lot of work. It can become like a second job. If you are
not prepared to do the work and put whatever is needed
into your music, then maybe you should rethink your
strategy. But, if you love music and would do whatever
it takes for it, then of course, we encourage it. It is not an
easy road, but every break you get just means that much
more to you and makes it that much more worth it.
As we finish this interview is there anything you
would like to add?
Like we tell all our listeners, you are not alone. As
cliché as it may sound…there is a light at the end of the
tunnel. We have all been in those situations before and
sometimes still to this day. We understand. Other than
that, please pre-order our upcoming album “Catharsis”
which drops on 10/14/14 on Pavement Entertainment /
Sony RED / Plastic Head. For an up-and-coming band
like us, EVERY pre-order makes a difference. Fans have
a chance here to really help a band like us make our
official mark so to speak. “Catharsis” can be pre-ordered from www.bestbuy.com www.amazon.com www.
