What do you want them to get from this interview?
We first and foremost love for people to know who
we are and what we stand for. We want them to know
we like to have fun and love what we do.
7 Stone Riot
By Jenny Johnston
Since bursting onto the rock scene in 2013, 7 Stone
Riot has not slowed down. They are currently traveling
the southeast in support of their single “Painted Red”
,the first release from their debut album which released
January 6, 2015.
Let’s start off by introducing the band. Who are
the members and what instruments do they play?
Whit Millsap- vocals & guitar, Tyler Millsap- bass
guitar, Reid Aldridge- guitar, and Herman Ogletree III-
So how long have you guys been playing in this
band? Is this everyone’s first band they’ve played in or
have they played others we may of heard of?
Collectively, we’ve been together since September
2013. Herman was actually
called to play with 7 Stone
Riot while drumming for
Caliber Session at the time.
Before that, IntoNever was
the first band. This is everyone else’s first band.
Who in the band came
up with your name? What,
if any, reason did you guys
choose it? Does it have a
meaning behind it or does
it stand for something?
Reid came up with
name, because of availability and it made for good marketing possibilities. People have made their own
meanings of our name
which is pretty cool.
Is there one person
who writes all the songs
or do you guys write as
a band?
Whit is the main
vocal writer although an
idea is pitched from others every now and then.
Each member writes his
own particular instrumental piece though.
Where do you guys
usually gather songwriting inspiration? What
is you guy’s usual songwriting process?
We tend to gather
inspiration from life experiences and listening
to artists we each enjoy.
A typical day of writing
for us is gathering in the
living room and jamming
to whatever comes to
mind. Most of the time,
we can play for hours and

only have pieces here and there, but we take those pieces and stick them together overtime until we are happy
with the product.
