Them Country Boys
by Jenny Johnston
We are just a couple of corn bread fed, Jesus loving
God Fearing, moonshine drinking, mud bogging, high
rollin, country boys. We love the outdoors, hunting,
camping, fishing, shindiggin mud bogging and wilding
out every chance we get. We have an awesome story to
tell you and we’re gonna tell you through our lyrics of
our songs.
Let’s start off by introducing the band. Who are
members and what instruments do they play?
The Name of our band is Them Country Boys. There
are two (2) founding members Brent aka Big Country
and Travis aka Young Bogger.
We do not play any instruments in the band but in
the studio Brent plays guitar and harmonica. Travis
helps with the beat making process.
So how long have you guys been playing in this
band? And is this everyone’s first band they’ve played
with?
We started this band on March 15th 2013 so almost
2 years. This is Travis’ first band but Brent has been in a
Hard Rock band before Them Country Boys
Who in the band came up with your name? What,
if any, reason did you guys choose it? Does it have a
meaning behind it or does it stand for something?
We both sort of came up with the name with the
help of some of our co-workers. Brent was always called
Big Country and Travis being the little brother everyone
naturally started calling him Little Country. With the
fact that we are brother it inevitably led to us naming
ourselves Them Country Boys.
We live our lives the
way we were brought
up. Work Hard for what
you’ve got, don’t let anyone take advantage of you,
and always stand true to
your ground. So at the end
of the day we can honestly look at each other and
say we are Them Country
Boys
being changed or reworded. We want it to sound the
best but also allow people to relate to with the message
of the song.
So when did you guys
start as a band. Has anyone played in other bands
together? Share with us a
brief history.
We have always loved
music, even when we were
little kids. Brent used to
If someone wanted to
hear your music where
could they listen to it? Do
you have a sound cloud or
ReverbNation account?
Yes we have both

be in a Hard Rock Band
and Travis was heavily
involved in the scene as
well. However, with all
the stuff going on at that
time they decided to stop
doing music for a while.
In March of 2013 we had
just gone to go see our
buddy Lenny Cooper
Play a show at a local venue here not far from our
home town. After seeing
how much fun and how
everyone in the crowd
was reacting to the music we decided that this is
what we wanted to do.
Is there one person
who writes all the songs
or do you guys write as a
band?
We (Brent and Travis) are the ones who will
generally write all the
material, but we do have
people look over it and
see if there is anything
they would recommend

Where do you guys usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is you guy’s usual songwriting process?
Really, we just will be sitting around and a nice line
or punch line will come into our heads and we will just
go off of that and build it
from there. We love to act
up so if we think of any
kind of skit that we can
make a song for, that will
generally spark an idea.
We want people to be
able to relate to the words
in our songs. We also get
other inspiration from
other artist.
Speaking on online, do you think that online presence like Facebook or Twitter is important for fans to
find you?
Yes any kind of social media is good to use when
done properly. We love to interact with our fans by having contest for prizes and it gives us a chance to connect
to our fans. We are on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and
Vine.
Do you guys play locally or do you tour much?
As of right now we play locally, we are looking to
start touring as soon as we can after our album drops.
What’s your opinion of your music scene? And what
would you like to see change if anything?
We love our genres music scene and wouldn’t change
anything about it. We have the most supportive fans
anyone could ask for.
Where do you see this band in a year or two? Do
you guys, as a band have any goals for this year?
As an artist we would like to see our music reach as
many people as possible. We would like to be able to
tour as many states as we can and meet as many people
as we can.
We are excited to see the reaction to our debut
album this year.
