Info: Green to Gold Program Aids Student Veterans RCC student veterans seeking help with their finances and life goals now have another avenue for advancement with the introduction of the Green to Gold program. The initiative, which began in Fall 2016, assists student vets in their transition from the military to a productive civilian life, with an emphasis on boosting financial literacy and planning. The program consists of three components: Personal Finance of Veterans; the Next Mission Workshop; and Edge4Vets. In Fall 2016 students took six classes constituting the Personal Finance for Veterans component. Class topics included financial analysis; debt myths & decisions; putting your dollars to work; managing debt, financial fitness and action plan development. In Spring 2017, students will attend a one-day “Next Mission” workshop to help them develop purpose and vision for their work and personal lives. In Fall 2017, participants will attend Edge4Vets workshops, which help veterans draft an action plan for their anticipated career and connect them with mentors in their preferred field to build a professional network. A new cohort of students will be accepted in the Spring 2017. These workshops are free for student veterans.
