a kitchen, mid-morning. coffee is on the burner and the cups are out but nobody drinks.
Man 1: Look, we need to-

Pause
For another chance to come again? No. This won’t happen again. This CAN’T happen again. It
needs to be now.
Woman 1: Stop it.
Now.

Man 1: That’s what I mean.

Woman 1: You wouldn’t dare.
Man 1: I wouldn’t dare if I could help it.
Woman 1: Then help it.
Man 1: Help me.

the stage is black, you see nothing.
Man 2: I’m ready.

a desk at an office
Man 1 shifts around in chair, visibly agitated. a quick check around for a confirmation. the coast
is clear. for now. just as Man 1 gets comfortable, Man 2 enters.
