COLLECTIVE IMPACT PROJECT
Throughout South Carolina, there are numerous bright spots when
it comes to teen pregnancy prevention. Investments are being made
with federal, state, local and private dollars; programs are being
implemented at a high level and in a variety of locations. While this
is a positive trend, these grants and programs are often funded in a
vacuum without a way to measure the collective impact of all that is
going on. Perhaps more troubling, far too often these programs are
also funded without mechanisms for long-term sustainability.
In June 2012, the SC Campaign received funding from The Duke
Endowment to address each of these issues. Specifically, this funding
has allowed the SC Campaign to assemble a leadership group of
stakeholders and decision makers from a variety of agencies to begin
the process of working more collaboratively on the issue of funding
and implementing teen pregnancy prevention programs. In addition
to the
