A career in sport isn’t just about trying to
reach the elite level. There’s plenty more on
offer, like coaching, sports management,
personal training, running leisure facilities
or working in a retail sport store. In addition
to getting outside in the fresh air, there are
careers assisting people taking part in active
pursuits like mountain biking or hiking.
The sport industry is all about
having fun, keeping fit and
maintaining or improving
health and fitness.
Careers in this growing sector
are widely varied: they can be in
professional sport, such as playing
or being part of the wider support
team; working in health promotion
through sport and the study of
sports science; or perhaps take
a fitness role in a gym delivering
group or one-to-one training
sessions and exercise classes.
