We at Careermap admire you for sticking with your studies during these strange times. Your teachers may well be giving you assignments and other work, along with resources to reference, but we thought we would pull together a list too. Some of the resources listed below are subject specific and others offer more than one topic. We have also included some that are just fun whilst expanding your knowledge. General support on a range of study support BBC Bitesize You may already be familiar with BBC Bitesize as it is one of the most popular education support sites in the UK, but have you taken the time to drill down lately? During homeschooling, they are posting daily and for each year and subject! BBC Bitesize can be accessed in a number of ways, but the most popular ways to take part are by visiting bbc.co.uk/bitesize or by looking for the platform on BBC iPlayer. This is a free comprehensive childhood-to-career programme which inspires, encourages and educates young people from all backgrounds. Pearson For secondary schools and further education colleges, Pearson are offering free subscriptions to ActiveLearn, providing teachers with the tools and resources to personalise teaching and learning for key stage three, GCSE, A level, BTEC Tech Awards and Level 3 qualifications Some other sites that may be helpful: The Department of the Economy has joined forces with the Open University to provide free training in a range of areas. Teachers are able to manage students progress on the practical worksheets they set for students. Fuse School is offering schools a free subscription, where pupils can learn for free anywhere. They cover core subjects such as Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Physics bringing learning to life. Future Learn offers both paid and free plans for teachers to designate work to their pupils. This is a great resource which covers a range of subjects from history to business, law, literature, IT, languages, politics plus much more! Open Learn offers a range of MFL courses, from Spanish to French, there is lot’s of new things to learn. If you’re looking to expand your horizons and knowledge then head over to Open Learn to explore your options. From javascript to website design, Home and Learn have lots of opportunities for you to develop your computer skills and better still, they are completely free and for beginners, so you don’t need any experience to get started! The University of Edinburgh is offering a range of free courses which are accessible to all. They are free short online courses which provide valuable insights across a range of subjects, including humanities.
