In the famous William Shakespeare play ‘ Love ’ s Labour ’ s Lost ’ the ancient land of ‘ Navarre ’ is the colourful backdrop for all the layers of drama and intrigue . The much more contemporary stage of the Circuito de Navarra in northern Spain is a new theatre of dreams for the seventh round of the FIM Superbike World Championship . Love ’ s Labour ’ s Won , you could say . An all-new circuit in 2010 , it will be an all-new home for WorldSBK racing for the very first time in 2021 . Built at an initial cost of € 50 million it is a truly modern circuit with a fulsome suite of facilities and design touches . The 3.933km long circuit is the shortest venue on the 2021 calendar , but it packs in every imaginable style of corner into its modernistic layout and features some interesting changes of elevation . Turn One is almost flat out in top gear , a true ‘ Curvone ’. The analogy to another Latinate European country is apt . Just like the modern-day ‘ clockwise ’ Misano ,

T1 at Navarra has a full noise , full commitment corner entry in top gear but thereafter it is also about velocity management . Immediately after the first big brave flick towards the super-fast apex there are slower right hand corners to negotiate as fast as you dare . Navarra ’ s layout sounds like a busy 4km of action around a track with 15 distinct corners , and you would be right in some regards . There are numerous slower and more technical sections , But , the faster corners provide variety and a different spectacle , especially that super-fast T1 . Several WorldSBK teams have tested at Navarra already . Other than some bumpy sections the teams pronounced themselves very pleased with the latest addition to the calendar .
