During WWII the property was requisitioned as a depot for military vehicles until local businessman , Tom Wheatcroft , bought it and built it into a race venue fit to host MotoGP™ , F1 and WorldSBK races .
This weekend you are literally standing on a site of unrivalled historic significance for the FIM Motul Superbike World Championship . Donington Park was the venue for the very first WorldSBK weekend of all . Well over 30 years later Donington is still very much in the vanguard of WorldSBK ’ s high speed 12-round fun factory .
