In 2021 Rea , Razgatlioglu , Redding , Bautista , van Der Mark and co . will embark on competitive adventures at three circuits that have never before appeared on any previous WorldSBK calendar . The first two - Most and Navarra - are next up , one after the other . The Mandalika International Street circuit will finish the season in November . Three from a planned 13 rounds are all new venues for us . We asked WorldSBK Executive Director Gregorio Lavilla how new and old tracks get to be on the calendar , both before and during the ongoing global pandemic .

Last year the WorldSBK championship had to react quickly to find a way to complete a meaningful season after a screeching halt after the first round in Australia . The brakes had been suddenly jammed on by rapidly changing Covid-19 regulations .
Eventually held over eight rounds , each with three WorldSBK races , we can say with certainty that the whole WorldSBK family got a viable WorldSBK season done last year - in the most trying circumstances . It was actually a fulsome 24 individual race series for the big bikes . The WorldSSP class actually had 15 races - more than a normal season . Looking at 2021 Dorna and the FIM were determined to try and expand the championship again in sheer number of events , to get even closer to previous times . That has played a part in having not one , or two , but three new rounds planned for 2021 . Even before the modern realities of Covid , how are new tracks brought into the WorldSBK fold ? That is a question we asked to Gregorio Lavilla directly at a returning favourite circuit , Assen , two weeks before the first of the new WorldSBK tracks this season , Most .
