EXCITING CONTENT see the barbecues , the air is filled with the unmistakeable aromas of outdoor cooking . San Juan itself has every possible kind of hotel , from the cheapest to high end . At half an hour away from track to city centre , and with a highly functional ring road system and the main Pan American Highway - Ruta 40 at this point - running past the front door , getting to and around San Juan is not that challenging . Endless nearby roadworks may have been finished by now , but I cannot tell you for sure , as we all had to miss the Argentinian race last year due to Covid-19 concerns . In 2018 we had two races on the weekend , the year after three , as new rules came in to introduce the Tissot-Superpole race . With 17 corners El Villicum is on the busy side compared to some , but it is interspersed with those two fast straights , so watch the best Ducatis and Hondas fly at times . So far , Villicum has seen wins for Jonathan Rea and KRT in four races , and Alvaro Bautista in first ‘ long race ’ in 2019
