EXCITING CONTENT
It was a long held ambition of WorldSBK to go to South America . Some said we could go to Brazil one day , some said Argentina was more likely … We had raced in many places in North America for decades , of course . But South America had seemed like a dream , floating on the breeze , never to be quite captured even after 30 years of WorldSBK racing had involuntarily passed it by . Our collective dream had a happy ending in Argentina , a vast land with silver glistening in its very name . It was San Juan that drew the WorldSBK paddock towards its whole new continent .
We made it south for the first time in 2018 , at the quite awesomely located and designed Circuito San Juan Villicum . It had just been ( mostly ) completed when we visited first time and you could tell that from the brand new everything that we saw and touched over the inaugural meeting . And it had some teething problems , of course .
The geographical situation of the Villicum track may be remote from the biggest cities in Argentina but San Juan always greets us with open arms and a positive attitude . And an amazing racetrack
