Living Out Love
Amazing Grace
I
Lovie Weatherby
t’s what our faith is supposed to be all about.
This Easter Sunday should be the mark of a pause to observe all that we
have been given. All that we should be giving. All that truly matters.
Most likely we will sing the words to its sacred song. Proudly. Loudly. Mostly
from memory.
Amazing Grace.
Most likely, we will attend church and even the chreasters will join us there!
(Ya know? The group of people that mostly attended church on Christmas and
Easter?)
We will have big family gatherings and meals and egg hunts and candy. And these days...even gifts! There
will be such festivity and celebration!
But do we genuinely grasp and recognize the depth and responsibility of this wondrous occasion and gift?
I do not believe our human minds will ever fully understand this great treasure, Amazing Grace, they’re
human, after all. We can, however, strive to understand more. We can learn better how to open our minds and
hearts to its fullness and beauty. This Amazing Grace.
Do you accept it freely and give it selflessly, as it was given? As we were charged as, not just believers, but
doers of our faith and following?
If we could all make steps toward living and loving in this Amazing Grace, everything else in our lives
would line up just right.
