creative ways and elements of writing. I enjoyed Writing Experiments a lot and this was the course I took in my last semester. Not a day goes by where I don’t recall my enthusiasm to enter Dr Sharon’s class and type away! What started out as a bunch of friends throwing discs on the patch of grass brought us closer to forming a small team to take part in MAPCU 2011 with only nine players... We expanded and began winning medals at various tournaments. I was glad to have been a part of the formation of the Ultimate Frisbee Club in MUM and to have been given the chance to captain the team for the three years of my university life. The experience has taught me to be a leader by example, to teach and spread the joy of the sport to my teammates and club members, to strengthen my emotions. It has built my patience to lead the team and cultivated a sportsmanlike mindset in me. In all my three years of captaining the team, I will always remember my emotional breakdown at KESUMAT 2013.  SASS Orientation Day 2011. ▶ MAPCU 2011: First Ultimate tournament participation for MUM MAPCU 2012: 1st Runner Up KESUMAT 2013 (MARA UiTM Invitational Tournament): 4th Place  KESUMAT 2014 (MARA UiTM Invitational Tournament): Champion MAPCU 2014: Champion 129 I believe all my fellow SASS graduates will agree with me when I say that Authorship and Writing, under Dr Andrew was probably the toughest course to take up. Don’t get me wrong though... I enjoyed every lesson by Dr Andrew (it was probably his immense sarcasm and charisma while lecturing us). Despite all the stories of people failing and retaking the course and Dr Andrew’s strict rule of not repeating himself – “I won’t repeat myself so if you want, you better bring a recorder to the lecture hall!” – I can’t believe I actually did it. Thankfully, I passed his course (barely...). As hard as it was, I truly enjoyed every lecture and tutorial. His lesson on originality and authenticity supported my thoughts on how I believed almost everything that we do or say is dictated by another thought. Somehow I always found interest in subjects and courses that deal with the sceptical/ dark side of human nature and the world. Team Monash lost in the semi finals against a team we should have beaten. I remember feeling helpless and lost. As a captain, I felt useless at that point when I could no longer find the words or the right strategy to win the game. I tried to hold back my emotions after the defeat but I let it get the best of me which then caused the team to be defeated and finish at 4th place. I went to a corner and started to tear up. The feeling of frustration, humiliation and embarrassment of losing and bringing the team down went through my mind as I sat by the corner trying to hide from the world. My girlfriend, Mei Wei quickly went to me to cheer me up, ensuring me that I had given my best. Instead of sad faces from the team, I was greeted with team hugs and cheers. This moment in my sports life forever changed me into better managing my emotions, constantly putting my team morale first and, most importantly, becoming an all rounded player in the physical, mental and social aspects.
