Blue Mosque , Istanbul A historic mosque in Istanbul called the Sulthanahmet Camil or better known as the blue mosque because of its interior design that is blue. The mosque was built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Ahmed I. Like the other mosques, inside the mosque itself was the founder’s grave, a madrasah and a hospice.
