The average global temperature of the Earth in 2016 is the highest among all 137 years in the 1880 – 2016 record. one with long and tiresome attachment emits 50g CO2e. In other note, bananas are explained to have small carbon footprint compared with the nourishment they provide. According to Organization for Economic Co – Operation and Development, 55% to 65% of gas emissions are due to the extraction, transportation and the process of managing raw materials in some of developed countries. Using circular economy system, it could help reducing the amount of gas, carbon or any sort of things that can contribute to air pollution. When the three stages above were curtailed, it will also decrease others such as energy infrastructure, pipelines, coal terminals and refineries. This process can create domino effect where it can be connected from a sector to another sector. Malaysia is on the track to eliminate and reducing carbon emissions up to 40% to ensure the future generations have a better environment to live in. Green Technology Financing Scheme that are made by the government has successfully supported up until 188 projects that have saved 2.31 millions of carbons emissions. The government had spent RM51 billion to increase the resilience against the climate change that is happening around the world. The resilience includes awareness of flood risks, water security, food security and protecting coastlines and health. Circular economy is being seen as a massive and grand vision that could help for a better planet and can lead to a greater business models and environmental outcomes. Circular economy inspires and encourages the public and companies to look at the importance of decreasing and reducing waste. However, we need to ensure the system are to be used continuously. Some companies may use shortcuts by illegally disposing the waste just to save their cost. It is true that by using the system of circular economy, goods and items are recycled and turning into something new. But, does the consumers want to consume items that have been used for 15 to 20 years? For example, air conditioner. Air conditioner needs to have services by time to time and by the time it reaches 10 years, consumers might not want to buy it because it may cost them more money to fix the air conditioner if they need to. Practicing carpool or using public transportations should be encouraged frequently from time to time. The society might also practice the idea of 3Rs – recycle, reduce and reuse to help in contribution of preventing the Earth from further dying. Leaving the future generation in a world full of damages is inevitable right now, looking at the statistics and statements that show how disrupted the Earth is. But remember, it is never too late to start something today. SASARAN JURNAL KRITIKAN MEDIA . 63
