In this era of globalization, with the existence of‘ The Internet’ every little thing is at our fingertips. Just a simple click you will find what you need to know by inserting keywords into the search engine. Internet allows everyone to stay connected with current issues, news, knowledge and people from all over the world. The big world just seems like a small village and this is what Marshall McLuhan meant with his‘ global village’ phrase.

However, the Internet provides you with a bunch of information with no restrictions. Anyone in the world can have access to what that they want to know. There will be no gatekeeper filtering or preventing you from posting or sharing updates that you want to share or upload.
Every internet users are gatekeepers to themselves. When too much freedom somehow it
can be dangerous because any violation or manipulation of news, facts and information can occur. So, some countries take the precaution steps to restrict, block and control any online activities that contains any sensitive issues, threats to governments, and violation of user rights, national law and cultures.
In 2016, Malaysia ranked 74th when it came to the internet speed and ranked 9th out of 15th countries in the Asia Pacific region. However, the internet speed in Malaysia is still slow and many users were complaining due to the insufficient internet service.
The Malaysia Communication and Multimedia Commission( MCMC) will have to do some improvements in improving broadband coverage and quality, aiming to achieve 20 Mbps throughout the country.
