On 23 May 2018, the Chamber of Mines of South Africa was renamed the Minerals Council South Africa.
The new logo is a symbol of the organisation and industry’ s efforts and aspirations, and better reflects the work that we and our members now do.
Our mission is to play a leadership role in enabling the South African mining sector to achieve its real potential for investment, growth, transformation and development in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. In all that we do, we will represent and lead members in a way that reflects our vision, and our values: Responsible Citizenship, Respect, Trust, Honesty and Accountability. Through our Membership Compact, we will hold members accountable for their actions.
It is time, we believe, to signal clearly that our industry is building a new legacy, and creating a future all South Africans can be proud of. We believe in # MakingMiningMatter.
