He, along with Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, try to deescalate an incident at a

mutant orphanage between Rusty Collins and the authorities. Rusty Collins is a teenage

mutant with fire powers. Wade discovers that the boy has been abused by the staff at the

orphanage and kills one of the people responsible. Colossus prevents Wade from killing

anyone else.

Wade and Firefisthave power-dampening collars placed on their necks and are sent off to a

prison for mutants. In the distant post-apocalyptic future, Cable travels back in time. He

breaks into the mutant prison to kill Collins. Wade fights Cable off to save the boy’s life but

says he does not care about Collins. Collins overhears

this and is hurt. Cable and Wade’s fight ends up with

both falling off a cliff and nearly dying. A vision of

Vanessa convinces Wade to save Collins from Cable.

He creates a team called the X-Forceto rescue Collins

as the prison transfers him and other inmates to

another location. Meanwhile Collins befriends a

prisoner being held in solitary confinement who turns

out to be the Juggernaut. Everyone in X-Force

dies during a parachute jump before the rescue except

for Domino and Wade.

Cable attacks the transfer convoy and fights Wade.

Collins frees the Juggernaut. He asks the Juggernaut to

help him return to the orphanage and kill the

man responsible for his abuse. Juggernaut agrees

and the two of them escape.

Cable asks Wade for help stopping Collins. He

reveals that he came back in time to kill Collins before

he becomes a murderer. In the future, Collins kills

Cable’s family. Wade asks for Cable to give him a chance to talk to the boy before Cable

kills him. Cable agrees to it.

Wade and his allies head to the orphanage for a climatic showdown with the Juggernaut

and Collins. Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead take down the Juggernaut. Wade

tries to convince Collins to not kill the headmaster of the orphanage. He puts on a power-

dampening collar to gain the boy’s trust, but it does not work. Cable shoots to kill the boy

before he kills the headmaster. Wade jumps in the way and takes the shot to his heart.

After seeing this, Collins decides not to kill the headmaster. Wade dies. Cable travels back

in time to before the showdown began. He places a coin by Wade’s heart, so the bullet

won’t kill him. The headmaster is then killed by Wade’s taxi driver, Dopinder.
