The year of 2019 has been a great one for the legendary Dionne Warwick. First, she earned a Lifetime Achievement Grammy from the recording academy for her stellar career, joining a class that ranged from Billy Eckstine, Ashford & Simpson to George Clinton’s Parliament/Funkadelic. Then the spring album release, “She’s Back”, which became Dionne’s first Top 3 album in forty years and her first R&B record since 1969’s “Soulful”.

A whirlwind media tour of radio followed by appearances on Good Morning America, CBS’ Sunday Morning and This Morning telecasts kept Ms. Warwick busy, followed by her current run at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Now, comes two projects of which are dear to the chanteuse who brought us gems from the songbook of Burt Bacharach & Hal David (commencing with 1963’s “Don’t Make Me Over” straight through “Walk On By”, “Anyone Who Had A Heart”, “I Say A Little Prayer” and the Grammy

Award winning “Do You Know The Way To San Jose”) as well as the #1 hits,

Then Came You” (with the Spinners) and “That’s What’s Friends Are For” (featuring Stevie Wonder, Elton John & Gladys Knight).

In October, through S-Curve/BMG Records, Dionne released her second holiday album, “The Voices Of Christmas”, which features duets with the Oak Ridge Boys, Michael McDonald, Aloe Blacc, Dianne Reeves, Chloe X Halle, Andra Day and the legendary Johnny Mathis, to name a few. The album was produced by Ms. Warwick’s son, Damon Elliott, who also manned the boards for her record, “She’s Back”.

In an interview with entertainment columnist Eillen Shapiro, Dionne revealed that she had a say in what songs would make up the the repertoire for “The Voices Of Christmas” album and why she’d chosen certain tunes such as Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” (her duet with Aloe Blacc) or collaborating with the Oak Ridge Boys, John Rich and Ricky Scaggs on “Jingle Bells”.
