What according to you is the future potential
of organizations such as ODA in India and
how can they help in contributing towards
betterment of organizations?
Large number of Indian organizations is growing
and for managing the growth more manpower is
needed. To manage this manpower more number of
leaders are needed, therefore leadership development
becomes important for the growth. With incidences
such as poaching increasing in the market you cannot lose your talent to the competitors, so you have
to build a culture in the organization that people
love. It is this culture that we try to build. For a successful growing organization there is need to build
powerful leadership pipeline. For e.g. the telecom
sector has grown multiple folds over the years and
many CEO’s have emerged at the younger age. They
have the maturity and leadership capability in them.
The leader has to be authentic and conscious and
should not only look to drive numbers. There has to
be conscious capitalism, i.e., capitalism has to be in
correct form of deed. There should be more movement in consciousness of sustainability rather than
just going after profits.
The focus has to be on the 3P’s that is profit, people
and planet. The profit should be shown through organizational charts. People should be taken care of
and a culture building should be there. And the organizations should be socially conscious and should
have long term thinking with a deeper perspective
for the planet.

OB in theory is Ok, but how do you put that
in practice?
Organization change is an intervention which has to
sustain for long term and has to touch every part of
the system and inculcate humanitarian principles by
using behavioral skills, knowledge which is organizational behavior and organization development
related. It is about changing the health of the system
by accelerating growth through OD practices.
When BPO industry came into existence there was
a lot of hype, companies hired people for huge
salaries, the grass on this side was looking green,
but suddenly those industries stopped growing.
Same happened with the software industry and the
pharmaceutical industry. So the big question was
how do we streamline the process, save money and
get in big clients. In Pharma sector more people
were needed and build capabilities.
Most of the manufacturing firms were family
based, so they were more focused on turnovers and
profits but that mentality has changed now. They
are focusing more on organization development
and the knowledge skills by inducing a culture in
their organization ˂
