Running for Peace
On Race Weekend the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team will join
Peace Processions ahead of the Peace Runs on 15 October , and the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on 16 October .
On Saturday , 15 October , the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team will join Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Ambassador and running legend Elana Meyer in the 5km Peace Run . This will be followed by a peace procession to the start of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on 16 October .
The Peace torch is part of a global relay that embodies humanity ’ s universal aspiration for peace , and promoting international friendship and understanding .
Elana received the coveted Torch Bearer award from the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team in 2020 . Said Balarka Robinson , Sri Chinmoy Oneness- Home Peace Run Coordinator , “ Elana personifies everything the Shi Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run stands for . She continues to encourage athletes and inspire the running community , and her spirit of oneness makes the world a better place through sport .”
