Each of those six areas combine to create a student-centered approach , Emond says .
“ It ’ s all about students ,” he says . “ We have a clear focus statement of developing the whole child . We see children in their uniqueness , and we have set and developed an infrastructure to meet the needs of every child .”
Within Cognia ’ s accreditation process , Washington County earned 362.74 of 400 total available points . In the area of leadership capacity , the district scored 3.9 out of 4 ; in learning capacity , 3.67 out of 4 ; and in resource capacity , 3.87 out of 4 . Key findings of the accreditation committee included the following :
