Ceramics Ceramic sensuality Touch it, feeeel it! There are few things that compare to diving into a soft, temperate, damp glob of clay. Give in to its texture and its presence. It is spell binding. Put it on your bucket list! If a canvas can direct, then clay will “demand” your attention. Take it in your hands; it is a marvel. It grounds you and can hold you for hours. The journey will exhaust and may depress you. Precision, physics, patience, practice, and an extra dimension of creativity will suck you right in. It’s an overwhelming force and not for the faint of heart but ooohhhhhh! In the selfish, solitary world of creating, the silent opening of the kiln door, to a finished glazed and uncracked piece, is a tremendously self–satisfying and joyful experience. And so I do more.
