intense. But, when I visited San Miguel, 7 years
ago, I could not believe that such a place
existed, a humble artist haven, filled with
healers, in a world renowned tourist town, just
4 hours from Mexico City. Everyone that
comes here, is looking to escape, for peace, or
to surrender. There›s a spiritual element, a
kind warmth that calms people and allows us
to reflect upon our lives. I thought this would
be the perfect place to continue working with
my series.
alTirado: Tell me about your next exhibition.
Isis: On Satuday October 14th, I will be having
an inauguración (an opening) of my new
gallery and studio in San Miguel called «
Legends from the Realm of Nepantla
» showcasing new works from «Enter with
Discretion». People will get the opportunity to
meet all 4 of my archetypes and immerse
themselves completely, in Nepantla, gaining a
complete understanding how conflict
manifests.
alTirado: How important is it that art reaches
the common individual?
Isis: Oh, it›s so important. You know, I just
took a course on how to use Instagram for the
sole purpose of getting my artwork to the eyes
of the universal community. Art is visual
poetry that teaches, that guides a person
toward their own feelings & sacred
experiences. When people acquire a piece of
my work, they get to enjoy daily a part of the
myth with a cup of coffee or in deep
conversation with a glass of wine and that if
the greatest compliment to an artist.
