News from Management / Nuus vanaf Bestuur MEERSIG SWIMMING POOL AREA The 3 “Gazebo's on stilts” were completed. We are in the process of building three, 8-man timber seating sets to be placed on these gazebos. The stretch tent roofs are in the process of being sourced. The pool water was drained and the concrete walkway between the circle and the Camelot Spa building was demolished. All coping and other pavers were removed and the area covered with screed. This will allow for the installation of the new coping tiles and Belau timber decking around the pool. The open patio on top of the Leisure Desk was sealed with Derbigon and a screed to allow for the new patio tiles to be installed. The bar area is being constructed and phase 1 of the landscaping is being done. Poolwise contractors are on site busy with the refurbishing of the fibreglass of the pool, fitting new mosaic tiles, constructing the kids splash pad and installation of the devices as well as checking and servicing of all existing pumps, filters and pipes. The project will be completed by 29 September 2017, weather permitting. MAIN ESTATE ENTRANCE AND MAIN ROAD TO 4-WAY STOP Efforts were made to enhance the aesthetics of the main entrance and 1 roadway up to the 4-way stop by means of landscaping, changes in paint colour and placement of new monkey bins. Furthermore, speed dips outside of the main entrance up to the 4-way stop at the Sales Office, as well as nearly all speed dips on the ring round, were changed into the new cobble brick theme. Once again lots of positive comments were received from homeowners and guests alike. NEW DAM AT TRAFALGAR NEXT TO THE LAGOON A Gabion-basket wall was installed on the western side of the golf pathway leading up to the Trafalgar gate parking on the Estate next to Lot 16. The height of the basket was increased by sandbags filled with a mixture of sand and cement and then finished with a concrete slush. Two timber poles for birds were also erected. This structure serves as a weir wall so that the water on the western side of the golf pathway will become deeper to form a dam where birds and other wildlife can roam. It is also envisaged that a large timber deck with seating and braai-facilities will be constructed in 2018 (hopefully sooner). ESTATE WATER STORAGE FACILITY Management is currently putting together a proposal to possibly install water tanks on the Estate that will provide the Estate with an additional day of water when the Estate is full, should a water supply problem occur.
