Country Club CLUB NEWS / KLUBNUUS The course is currently in a very good condition and we are almost ready to reseed our greens as we are fast approaching winter. We had quite a bit of rain the last couple of weeks that assisted in the course looking so good. We would like to welcome Clinton Fouche as our new superintendent. Clinton has taken over from Albertyn Sauerman who has taken up a new position as head Greenkeeper at Mosselbaai Country Club. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Albertyn for an excellent job he has done over the last 6 years, Tyn and his staff have taken the course to the next level and we wish him, his wife Kelly, their daughter Keira and her baby sister coming soon all the best with their new venture. Clinton has been in the golfing industry for the past 20 years of which 17 years were spent at Dainfern as first the Golf Director and the last 10 years as golf course superintendent. Clinton comes with some experience in that he has completely re serviced all greens at Dainfern, reconstruction and installation of drainage in all bunkers. Hollowtining Please take note that the Golf Course will be closed for annual spring treatment / hollowtining from 9-12 November and the Mashie Course will be closed on 13 November. The course will be in recovery from 13 -23 November 2018. We will be doing a small tine and the course should be recovered in about 7 days after the tine. We will however offer reduced green fees during this period. Lentebehandeling Let asseblief daarop dat die Gholfbaan van 9 tot 12 November 2018 vir die jaarlikse lentebehandeling gesluit sal word. Die Mashie-baan sal op 13 November gesluit wees. Die baan sal vanaf 13 tot 23 November 2018 in sy herstelproses wees. Ons gaan nie 'n groot lentebehandeling toepas nie en daarom sal die baan net sowat 7 dae na die behandeling al herstel wees. Ons sal egter gedurende hierdie tydperk verminderde baanfooie aanbied. “Tee for Two” As jy vanjaar aan die “Tee for Two” kompetisie wil deelneem, stuur 'n e-pos aan [email protected] vir 'n inskrywingsvorm. Inskrywingsfooie is R7000 per paar, wat 3 x rondtes gholf, 3 x ontbyt, 3 x middagetes, 3 x aandetes en 'n geskenksak ter waarde van ten minste R1300 per persoon insluit. So ook kry elke paar 'n kans om 'n 5 dae reis vir twee na Mauritius en pryse ter waarde van R35 000 te wen. Kom geniet hierdie fantastiese gebeurtenis. Plaaslike reël - Aflaaisone wysiging Neem asseblief kennis: Nadat ons met Mnr Graham Webster gekonsulteer het, het ons besluit om ons aflaaisones op putjies 7 en 8, te verwyder. As gevolg van vele verskillende menings toe die aflaaisones in plek was, asook om moontlike verwarring en geskille te vermy, is daar besluit dat hulle nie meer in plek hoef te wees nie. Tee for Two If you'd like to enter in the Tee for Two mixed competition this year, please e-mail me [email protected] for an entry form. Entry fees are R7000 per couple, which includes 3 rounds of golf, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners, a goodie bag worth at least R1300 per person, a chance to win a 5 day trip for two to Mauritius and prizes worth R35 000. Meyer du Toit Golf Director / Gholf Direkteur Local Rule: Drop-Zones amendment Please note that after consultation with top rules official Mr Graham Webster it was decided to remove our drop zones on holes 7 & 8. We had too many different opinions when these drop zones were in place and to avoid confusion and possible disputes it was decided that there is no need to have them in place. Normal golf rules will apply. Should you have any comments or feedback please feel free to send me a mail [email protected] Die baan is tans in 'n baie goeie toestand en ons is amper gereed om ons setperke oor te saai met 'n wintergras, aangesien die winter nou vinnig nader kom. Ons het die afgelope paar weke nogal redelik reën gehad wat gehelp het dat die baan so goed lyk. Ons verwelkom Clinton Fouche as ons nuwe superintendent. Clinton het oorgeneem van Albertyn Sauerman, wat 'n pos as hoofbeampte by Mosselbaai Klub gekry het. Ons wil van hierdie geleentheid gebruik maak om Albertyn te bedank vir die uitstekende werk wat hy die afgelope 6 jaar gedoen het. Tyn en sy personeel het die baan na 'n volgende vlak geneem en ons wens hom, sy vrou Kelly, hul dogter Keira en haar baba suster al die beste met hul nuwe lewe toe. Clinton is die afgelope 20 jaar in die gholfbedryf, waarvan hy 17 jaar by Dainfern, eers as Gholfdirekteur en die afgelope 10 jaar as gholfbaan-superintendent, bestee het. Clinton kom met 'n ondervinding in die feit dat hy alle setperke by Dainfern heropgebou het asook die dreinering van alle sandkuile.
