The Financial System Project (F$P) is a citywide
initiative led by the Office of the Controller to
implement a new way for City departments to make
purchases and manage finances. The new system,
which launched in July, replaces outdated financial
legacy systems, reduces redundancies and will make
it easier to use data as actionable information.
The City selected PeopleSoft Financial Management
and Supply Chain Management, along with Oracle
Business Intelligence, as the software that allows
Public Works staff from accounting, budget and
contract administration and contract preparation to
work with increased efficiency, while helping to
provide services to the public. The new system will
help Public Works optimize its resources and make
better informed decisions that impact the entire city.
