Although San Francisco didn’t fall on the path of totality, the skies above us were filled with an essence of drama that even Karl the Fog couldn’t keep away. During its peak, shortly after 10 a.m., the alignment of the moon caused a partial totality, giving viewers an image of approximately 70 percent of the sun’s light taken over by darkness. For those who couldn’t get their hands on a pair of glasses, many turned to resources, such as tinfoil and cereal boxes, to capture the image of the moon and sun dance in other creative ways.
