PATTI BOMAN
Patti Boman is a proud mother who loves to
showcase her love for her family and the entire
LGBT community through her work in PFLAG and
other organizations. A Realtor by trade, Patti has
been married for 37 years and has two sons –
Erik and Danny. She also has a daughter-in-law,
Dawn.
When Danny came out 7 years ago, friends
took Patti to her first PFLAG meeting, and within
months, she was serving on the San Diego
chapter’s board of directors. She became copresident shortly after, and served in that role
until earlier this year. She helped the chapter
gain a social media presence by creating its
Twitter account, and continues to serve as
administrator of PFLAG San Diego’s Facebook
group, website, and blog. She also volunteers
to staff the help line, meets one-on-one with
parents who have questions about their
LGBTQ children, and speaks to groups and
organizations all over San Diego and Imperial
counties.
Beyond her work with PFLAG, Patti is trying to
help make the lives of LGBT people around
the globe better. She has participated in the
St. Paul’s Foundation Global Allies program and helped produce the Foundation’s “Love Heals
Homophobia” documentary.
Patti is also a member of The Center’s Mi Familia group, which serves Latino/a families, and was
