San Diego LGBT Pride Official Souvenir Guide 2014 | Page 11

Finally! It’s time to share the exciting additions to the Music Festival in Balboa Park. It’ll be fun and empowering while raising funds for the community. New are My Big Gay Wedding Expo, the Oasis Beach Party, the Bear Country Saloon, the Saturday Night Glow Party, and the nation’s first official NASA exhibit at a Pride. Add 200 musical artists, dozens of tasty food choices, and plenty of cool beverages, and you’re in for one fun festival. Every ticket is a two-day pass this year, and all tickets are just $20. The music festival empowers and celebrates our community’s diversity. This year features more performers who are transgender. There are entertainment zones ranging from Mundo Latino to The Movement hip hop zone. A Sobriety Village will welcome attendees in recovery. There are two Senior Cool Zones. And we’re accessible to people with disabilities. San Diego Pride is a 501c3 charity and has distributed $2,000,000 to organizations serving the LGBT community. Still, every year, the funds needed exceed what’s available. You can support our community by donating to San Diego Pride online at sdpride.org, by texting DONATE to 41444, or by giving at the donation barrels at the exits. Pride Weekend is possible because of energetic volunteers, a dedicated board, and my terrific colleagues on staff. Please thank our sponsors, donors, community partners, exhibitors, and parade contingents. Most of all, our gratitude goes to you for coming to our 40th Anniversary San Diego Pride. Enjoy!
