It turned and I fired , making a perfect spine shot , paralyzing the fish . Swimming to the surface , I noticed my spear had not fully penetrated the fish so I subdued it on the surface . Halii , attracted by the noise of my gun discharging , yelled , ‘ You got it . You got the hundred-pounder !’ With those words in mind I held the fish tightly to me as I swam back to the boat .
