Since breast milk is the best for infants, studies have compared it to formulas for nutritional values. Moreover, some studies evaluated the mineral content of manufactured formula to breast milk. They have compared the contents of essential elements and non- essential elements in each. With reference to the studies, “elements” are minerals needed to maintain body growth and functions such as: “(Ca, Co, Cu, Cr, Fe, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, and Zn)” these are the essential elements. These should be in the diet daily for healthy development and maintains. Then “non-essential elements”, are needed in the body at very minute amounts (Ag, Al, As, Ba, Be, Cd, Hg, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sn, Sr, Ti, Tl, U, and V)”, (Ikem, et.al. 2002). When there are large quantities of these minerals they could be toxic to the body. Therefore, scientist applied the
