Why I moved to Abbeyfield Saltash

In September 2013 I suffered a heart attack
followed by a mini stroke. This not only
affected me physically but it knocked my
confidence. I had to give up driving and living on
my own out of town, I was becoming very
isolated.
I went and looked at the new Apartments at the
Abbeyfield house and decided to sell my
bungalow and move in. This was not an easy decision but I
knew it would be for the best and it was my choice.
Now I am not reliant on friends which is really important to
me. I can catch a bus right outside and go into Fore Street,
walk across to the library and Saltash Health Centre. I can
socialise with my fellow residents at meal times and keep
myself to myself if I want to. I am finding that I am getting
more visitors living at Abbeyfield because it is so central.
I would recommend Abbeyfield to anyone who feels lonely in
their own home.
