SALT & PEPPER Visits The Glass Onion Society at Long Jetty Welcome to this, the very first instalment of Salt & Pepper; our platform to showcase the multitude of cool eateries and bars that call our Central Coast home. Over the coming editions I will be venturing far and wide across this beautiful slice of coastline; checking out newcomers, and old faves, in an effort to lure you out of your kitchen and into some of our impressive local cafes, bars and restaurants. With “local” in mind, I am kicking this column off quite literally by wandering down to the end of my street to the reborn Long Jetty retail precinct. If you have not ventured out much lately, the “Jetty strip” is now home to all manner of enticing bohemian enterprises including vintage and upcycled fashion, industrial homewares, unique florists, a selection of secondhand furnishings, and a soon to open greengrocer/ baker/deli (to name just a few). The area now has a real village feel which has fortunately replaced the neglected vibe for which it was previously known. Tourism pitch completed, my destination today is the very hip right now espresso bar/ gallery space “The Glass Onion Society”. I am visiting (hopefully undetected), with a partner in crime, to sample just a few of the menu offerings and to snap some covert shots to adorn this page. This is not my first visit and it will not be my last but it is definitely my only entry throug
