HOME.. With Anne Leishman Century 21 Gosford Ph 43211499 [email protected] When I was a little girl I would refuse to sleep each night until I got to see my Dad get home from work. In those days he worked 7 days a week from 9am through 7pm, although never really finished work then either. Often he would get home at 11pm only to get up and repeat this routine every day come rain, hail or shine. My father is a Real Estate Agent, and I have now followed in his footsteps, as he did in his fathers, and older brother’s. I am a third generation agent, and real estate is a part of who I am. I am lucky enough to have been raised by someone who loves their job, and genuinely cares about the people and their stories when working with them. I now understand why it was that my Dad would get home so late every night. In any day, I may tidy a property before an inspection, help a client fill in an application form correctly and organise their documentation, organise for handymen to fix what may be needed around the place, mow the lawns of an elderly client who cannot do it themselves, drive to Sydney to get a signature, hand deliver contracts to the solicitors, spend an hour on the phone to someone just wondering what they may need to consider when buying, selling or leasing property, writing an advertisement and photographing a property, delivering thank you gifts, showing people through properties, putting up a new sign, fixing a crooked sign, and the list goes on, believe me. I saw my Dad climb a tree in order to put his sign up for a client who wanted the best vantage spot (being a property with 3 road frontages). Good service involves more than just talking on the phone and unlocking a door! I love that working in Real Estate lets me have a part in shaping the future of a suburb, whether through new families or new developments. My father was the original agency in Kariong and saw the suburb rise from the dust into the bustling, community focused suburb it is today and I have been lucky enough to have seen the area grow as I have. Kariong certainly isn’t the only suburb that has grown and changed in my lifetime; the entire Central Coast has. And why wouldn’t it! Where else can you live so central to Sydney, Newcastle, beaches, bush and lead such a relaxed way of life? We are all truly lucky to live, work and play on the Central Coast. Throughout the following editions of SALT Central Coast, I will be exploring the suburbs of the Coast and what it is that makes them unique, from the Mountains to the beaches and everything in between, I consider myself so lucky to be a part of such an idyllic, and special area and can’t wait to delve into the trends, history and even future potential with you. Anne Leishman Century 21, Gosford RED SHIELD APPEAL The Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal will be held during the month of May, and the major door knock will be held on the weekend of the 24th and 25th May. Each year we rely on the generosity of the community to help us reach the fundraising target to help Australians in need. You can volunteer to door knock, or simply donate your spare change when we knock – no matter how small your help, it will be used towards helping those who really need it and is so appreciated.
