Q8. Do you Google yourself?
No.
Q9. What was the process of writing Sniper’s Eye like?
I had a lot of fun writing Sniper’s Eye. What I wanted to do was strike a certain note of authenticity while of course ensuring I was capturing readers’ imaginations. That meant a combination of a lot of research along with bringing to the story things I know about first-hand given my own background. As far as research goes, I learned about all kinds of fun things like how to make a bomb out of a cigarette lighter, how not to do waterboarding and how to escape if your hands are tied behind you with plastic ties and you’re sitting in a chair, blindfolded. Hope your readers pick up Sniper’s Eye and discover some of the results of that research.
Q10. What is that dream goal you want to achieve before you die?
I’m a simple guy. My goals are not framed in terms of what I want to achieve but the memories I’d like to leave behind. I’d like for my wife to feel that a life spent with me was the best way for her to spend her life. I’d like my son to remember me as someone who taught him how to be the best possible man he could be- both by following my example where I get it right and also learning from my mistakes so he doesn’t repeat them. I’d like people around me to remember me as someone who genuinely tried to make a positive impact to those around him. Finally, I’d like readers to keep picking up my books years after I’m gone, and remember me and stay connected with me through my words and ideas.
