Transport Solutions & Energy
The Tidal Resource Investigation, Device, and Energy Tool (TRIDEnT) aims to
decrease risk faced by supply chains in various sectors by providing the tools and
data-sets related to marine-inclusive endeavors. With this technology,
stakeholders in the marine-inclusive industries would save between 30 to 50% of
costs associated with data collection, collation, processing, and reporting. In
making information more accessible, TRIDEnT makes the process of establishing
marine-related ventures more efficient, thus creating a commercially-viable,
massively scalable solution to critical information gaps.
The TRIDEnT team further developed the web-based Integrated Geographic
Information System & Assessment Tool to enable decision support modes, such
as site-to-site comparison (using the same device class), device-to-device
comparison (using various sites), site-device matching (using various criteria) with
great flexibility in terms of users using their own data, their own settings, their
own targets and goals and analysis parameters. In doing so, the project would add
tremendous value to reducing the iteration cycles for developers, and introduce
suitability criteria to provide an analytical basis for decision-making.
Realizing that certain features and modules of the platform such as the suitability
analytics, data management, and AI-based insights generation were applicable to
more than just the marine renewable energy sector, the team has also begun to
conceptualize a meta-platform that combines data, tools, and expert templates,
and which will all be uploaded to OceanHubX, a cloud platform that will be
developed from 2020 to 2023.

Gasoline sold in the Philippines contains 5% bioethanol as mandated by law.
Currently, only around 50% of the total demand for bioethanol is produced
locally, requiring importation of the biofuel to meet the country’s needs.
