Some of the main activities during the 2011 to 2021 reporting period :
2011
Technical Data CD : The third version of the SAIRAC data CD was released during February 2011 and once again was favourably received by the industry . The first released in 2004 .
2012 to attract the youth to our Industry . The SAIRAC video was made available via the internet to all members for a wider use to encourage newcomers to follow a career path in the HERVAC sector . The viewing of the video at schools , technical colleges and institutions , continues to generate keen interest in our industry . With each viewing one tends to observe something new about the many career opportunities that exist in the wide field of refrigeration . Centres are reminded to view the CD at schools and colleges in their area , on a regular basis , to attract young people to a career path in our industry .

2015
Frigair Exhibition 2015 The Frigair 2015 exhibition was hailed as setting new records in exhibition space and visitor attendance . The change in venue to Gallagher Estate was also welcomed by many industry role players .
The four ASHRAE workshops attracted full attendance at each and laid the foundation for many more similar workshops to be held in South Africa . Those who attended the workshops had the added benefit of being credited with CPD points towards their professional registration .
2012 Frigair Exhibition and Workshop : The planning of Frigair Expo and SAIRAC Workshop which took place at Nasrec , Johannesburg from 15 to 17 August 2012 .
Second SAIRAC ‘ Meet and Greet ’ Function : All SAIRAC members were invited to the Meet and Greet function which took place at Gold Reef City Casino Conference Centre on the 14th of August 2012 .
ECSA Registration : SAIRAC was recognised by the Engineering Council of South Africa ( ECSA ) as a Category ‘ A ’ Voluntary Association . The benefits of this recognition are :
• It enables SAIRAC to register training courses with ECSA as Category 1 developmental activities in terms of the Policy on Continuous Professional Development ( CPD ). Delegates attending these courses can claim CPD points .
• SAIRAC members registered with ECSA enjoy partial reduction from payment of their ECSA annual renewal fees .
SAIRAC Video – ‘ HERVAC ’: The SAIRAC video was launched at the Meet and Greet Function on the 14th of August 2012 . The aim of the video is to present it to Schools , Training Colleges and Universities ,
Dreosti Memorial Lecture : The Dreosti Memorial Lecture presented by Prof Derek Clements- Croome took place in June 2013 in Cape Town , Port Elizabeth , Durban and Johannesburg .
2014
ASHRAE Presidential visit to SA In 2014 the ASHRAE President , Prof Bill Bahnfleth , visited South Africa from the 9th to 13th June 2014 and attracted approximately 200 of our members and industry role players to the two lectures held in Johannesburg and Cape Town . In a matter of only 5 days , the President met with a wide cross section of industry to gain first-hand insight to our local environment . Bill ’ s presentation brought home what can be achieved by an Institute with full time employees and strong support from its members . There are indications that the visit will forge better relations between the two institutions .
2018
Frigair Exhibition 2018 The feedback from the 2018 Frigair was very positive with a record number of visitors .
The total number of visitors was 4126 , around 27 % up from the previous Frigair .
In addition , the first ATMOS ( in association with SHECCO ) conference was held during this expo . At the time , ATMOS was the leading conference series dealing with natural refrigerants .
Three ASHRAE speakers and eleven local speakers presented talks on a variety of industry related subjects .
SAIRAC held a breakfast function at the venue for dignitaries , exhibitors and members . The breakfast was held at the venue on the 7th of June 2018 .
