No. 1 – LT TONY BOSELLI
Former Jaguars LT Tony Boselli was selected as No. 1
on the Jaguars All-25 presented by Sharpie, a collection
of the top 25 non-active players in franchise history, as
voted on by members of the local media.
“Just being included in the Jaguars ALL-25 is a huge
honor and being named the number one player is
amazing and very humbling considering all the great
players who have played for the Jaguars,” Boselli said.
“When I was picked by the Jaguars in 1995, I could not
have imagined what a big part of my life this franchise
and the City of Jacksonville would become. I want to
thank the entire Jaguars organization, the amazing
Jaguars fans and the all the media that covered my
entire career. It’s great to be a Jaguar!”
Boselli was the second overall pick in the 1995 NFL
Draft and the fi rst-ever draft selection by the Jaguars. A
fi ve-time Pro Bowl selection (1996-2000) and three-time
All-Pro (1997-99), he started 90 of 91 career games from
1995-2001. During his seven seasons in the NFL, Boselli
allowed only 15.5 sacks, and was the fi rst Jaguars player
to be inducted into the team’s “Pride of the Jaguars.”
Boselli’s dominance was recognized when he was
named to the NFL’s All-Decade team of the 1990s. For
the last three seasons, Boselli has been a fi nalist for the
Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is the fi rst Jaguars player
in franchise history to receive that honor.
“For him to not only live up to his draft status but live
beyond the draft status; to be a generational left tackle
to be as good as he was; when he gets in the Hall of
Fame, and he will get in the Hall of Fame, it will be the
most remarkable story along those lines maybe in NFL
history,” said John Oehser, Jaguars.com senior writer
and a Jaguars All-25 voter.
Currently, Boselli lives in Ponte Vedra with his wife,
Angi. The couple has fi ve children: Andrew, Adam, Ashli,
Alexis and Ansli. Boselli serves as a Jaguars radio
analyst on the team’s play-by-play team on 1010XL, as
well as an NFL analyst for Westwood One.
