Celebratory Spring Gathering and Reunion Honors Tom Ryan’ s 55-Year Tenure
Wednesday, June 10, 2026, was a night like no other. A massive celebration of a Saint David’ s legend, and of our amazing community. In our largest on-campus event ever, nearly 700 people and an additional 200 on livestream turned out for our Celebratory Spring Gathering and Reunion honoring Mr. Tom Ryan, upon his retirement after 55 years at Saint David’ s. From in-person tributes by our Board Chair Dan Connolly’ 77, Headmaster David O’ Halloran, and Tom’ s son Thom’ 89 and daughter Liz, to surprise video appearances by Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman and baseball greats Dave Winfield and Reggie Jackson, it truly was a night to remember. A historic evening, capping off a historic anniversary year. And all on the night of the Knicks’ Game Four history-making comeback in advance of securing the NBA championship title!

Board President Dan Connolly’ 77 noted he knows Tom“ as my teacher, the teacher of my boys( Classes of 2010 and 2012) and as Board Chair. From all perspectives and directions, Tom is simply extraordinary … He made connections with boys who grew up during vastly different times and found the universal language and means to reach a boy born in 1960 in equal measure with a boy who was born in 2014 … I trace my love of learning and my enthusiasm for the classroom to those days in Mr. Ryan’ s sixth grade class … On behalf of the 10-year-old boy who nervously entered your classroom, thank you, you made the world a better place.”
