Visits to Houses of Worship
At Saint David’ s, boys learn the history, rituals, and core beliefs of many religious traditions including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. To deepen their understanding of world religions while cultivating good habits of mind for thinking about religions and religious practice, boys visit various houses of worship and meet with their respective leaders. This year, the boys visited The Park Avenue Synagogue( Grade Three), the Mahayana Buddhist Temple( Grade Four), the Church of Heavenly Rest( Grade Five), and The Islamic Cultural Center of New York( Grade Eight).
