John M. Hale ’71, a medical doctor, goes to Haiti on medical missions twice a year. John J. Cannon ’73 has three children, Danny, Benjamin, and Pheobe Naomi. Terrence F. Mullin ’73 gave a Chapel talk recently to fifth through eighth graders. He is very committed to Saint David’s and is delighted that both his sons are here. Michael F. McGrath ’74 is a mobilized Naval reservist serving in Iraq as the Battalion Medical Officer for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 24. A cardiac surgeon in private practice in Norfork, VA, Michael is married and has three sons. Matthew S. Raphaelson ’75, after reading the last issue of the magazine noted the following: “One of the articles starts with a reference to the movie You’ve Got Mail, the remake of the 1940 movie The Shop Around the Corner. There is even more of a Saint David’s connection. The screenplay to The Shop Around the Corner was written by my grandfather, Samson Raphaelson. I also greatly enjoyed the talk by John Fennell, with whom I overlapped maybe a year or two. He was a mythic figure, in part because he seemed three times as tall as any of us.” Peter S. Kirby ’76 is currently on assignment in Tokyo. He and his wife had their fourth child, Sachiko Johanna, on May 29, 2004. John P. Flanagan ’79 is enjoying the commercial and residential Real Estate Business. He is President of HRD Properties, Inc. Tim Hughes ’80 and his wife, Michelle, welcomed their second son, Quincy Thomas, in April. John W. Comerford ’81 is working on a variety of film and TV projects. He recently attended the Los Angeles Reunion. Sean Smith ’82 covered the funeral of Pope John Paul II for ABC’s World News Tonight in Rome. Sean noted his “amazement at the millions of pilgrims (who) would stand on line for fourteen hours to be able to file past John Paul’s body in the Basilica.” William E. Hult ’83 lives in Tribeca with his wife, Allison, and daughter Olivia. On the work front, he is the Director of US Markets for TradeWeb, an online fixed income marketplace recently purchased by Thomson Financial. Palmer W. Murphy’s ’83 (www.palmermurphy.com) art works, according to his Web site, are owned by public and private collectors in the United States, Europe, and Australia. His preferred media comprise sculpture in bronze and similar materials.
