GEN E R ATIONS
At the age of 19, Andrew was diagnosed with a rare kidney
cancer known as HLRCC, which currently has no known
cure. “Andrew was motivated to help others,” his father
explained. “Following his diagnosis, when he (Andrew) came
home from school for Christmas, he said, ‘Dad, I have an idea
- I'm going to start a non-profit.’
Andrew established Driven to Cure, a nonprofit
organization, to help others and raise awareness for rare
kidney cancers.
“When Andrew passed on Easter Sunday, we had received
donations from 33 countries around the world,” said Bruce.
“Five days after he passed, 160 countries donated to Driven
to Cure …We have raised over $600,000 in a little over three
years...It’s all about awareness.
“To be honored here at Saint David’s and to see everyone
(classmates, friends, faculty) tonight, this is very special to me
and my family. We’re honored and proud. The legacy will
continue, and we will find a cure.”

that the first line of defense for
kidney cancer is dermatology.”
