Nightingale-Bamford Lectures A Cherished Tradition Turns 50
Dali, Altorfer, van Eyck, Vasari, and Raphael...During this
year’s NBS Lectures on Art Finals, Eighth Grade finalists
provided in-depth critical analyses of notable works of art
by these master artists before an audience of the boys’ peers
from the Nightingale-Bamford School and a panel of judges
comprised of faculty members, administrators, trustees, and
art experts. The winning lecture was an analysis of Dali’s
Galatea of the Spheres by Davis Church ’20. Congratulations
to Davis and to finalists Alexander Salvatore ’20, William
Haufrect ’20, Aidan Kelly ’20 and Colin Kamhi ’20. The 50th annual Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, held
Thursday, December 19, filled the Church of St. Thomas
More with beautiful Carols sung by fifth and sixth graders,
and scripture passages read by members of the Saint David’s
community. The Recorder Consort featured several Saint
David's alumni.
