Thanksgiving and Gratitude
Led by teacher Tom Ryan and the Eighth Grade, the Saint
David’s community participated in the 51st school-wide
Thanksgiving Food Drive. The annual drive provides
Thanksgiving meals for those in need in neighboring
communities. Throughout November, boys in all grades
donated canned goods and families bought pies that
funded the purchase of turkeys. On Wednesday morning,
eighth graders packed the meals and loaded them into vans
for transport to nearby parishes. The school sent off 186
boxes of groceries (30 items per box), 100 fresh turkeys,
100 pounds of breakfast sausage, and a like amount of
bacon. The Drive is one of many ways that the school
community expresses its gratitude and finds ways to give
back and do good.
